Frequently Asked Questions
-
Are you open during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic?Yes! We are fully open and operational, from emergencies to routine cleanings. Our staff members are vaccinated, we have increased our use of PPE, and our waiting room surfaces are routinely cleaned. Feel free to ask your hygenist about more of the changes we have made. Several days before your appointment, we will reach out with our COVID screening questions and then on the day of your appointntment we will take your temperature before entering our facility.
-
Are you taking new patients?Yes! Both Dr. Messier and Dr. Meisel are accepting new patients at this time.
-
Do you accept my dental insurance? We are in-network with a limited number of insurance companies in order to maintain independence and practice dentistry the way we believe is best for our patients. Many of our current patients receive substantial out-of-network benefits that are often able to cover routine cleanings and restorative procedures. We understand insurance policies can be complex to navigate and we are more than happy to take a look at your policy for you. Give our receptionists a call at (518) 283-1881 or e-mail us your policy at contact@doctormessier.com to go over your insurance coverage with you.
-
How should I prepare for my first appointment? You may complete the initial paperwork online under the "New Patient Form" tab. The packet includes patient information, medical history, dental history, insurance information, your rights under HIPPA, and a records release so we may obtain any x-rays from previous dentists and oral surgeons. Completing this packet at least a day or two before your appointment will allow us to be best prepared for your arrival.
-
Where are you located? Our address is 432 N. Greenbush Rd. Rensselaer, NY 12144. We are located in a charming brick building on the corner of Rt. 4 & Avenue C West, across the street from Blooming Grove Cemetery. There is a map located on the "About" tab of our website.
-
Do you have an accessible entrance? Our main entrance has several steps and we also have a side entrance to the building that is accesible to those with limited mobility. If you would like to use that side door, simply park in the designated spot and ring the doorbell by the side entrance; someone will greet you at the door, take your temperature, and guide you to the waiting room.
